Grace Free Community Fridge
The Grace Free Community Fridge is OPEN! It is located along the west side of the garages in the parking lot. It has a refrigerator and a pantry shelf inside, and is accessible 24/7. When accessed in the dark, there is a motion sensor light that will go on. Members of the Free Fridge subcommittee are checking the shed daily to assure it is clean and up-to-date.
We welcome church members and neighbors using it and contributing to it. Here are guidelines for food that we take:
ITEMS WE ACCEPT
-
Dairy products (e.g., milk, cheese)
-
Meat and protein (e.g., beef, chicken, eggs, peanut butter)
-
Fresh produce (e.g., bagged salads, fruit, vegetables)
-
Baked goods (e.g., bread, pastries)
-
Non-perishable foods (e.g., canned vegetables, granola bars, uncooked pasta, etc.)
ITEMS WE DO NOT ACCEPT
-
Left-overs, or prepackaged food that has been opened
-
Food that was served at a buffet and not preserved properly (ie, not refrigerated or properly re-packaged)
-
Food that is spoiled or not fit for consumption
Please Note:
-
Items should have a “use by” date on them – if they are past the date, they will be discarded
-
Place refrigerated items in the refrigerator and non-perishables on the pantry shelves.
-
Place newer items toward the back of the fridge or shelves so previously donated foods will be taken first.
-
Be sure all donated foods are properly packaged/sealed. Anything previously prepared should be labeled and dated from the day of preparation – and will be discarded after 7 days or upon expiration.
