Confirmation Class helping with Ash Wednesday Service

Confirmation is usually taught during the 7th grade year, however, we invite those who are in 8th grade, 9th grade, and beyond, to join in as well. Our first meeting during the 2019-2020 year will be a parent and confirmand meeting.  Parents do not need to be members of Grace for a child to participate in the confirmation class. Additional information about the confirmation experience is in the links below. If you have any questions or if you wish to discuss more details regarding the confirmation process please contact Coreen Witke, Director of Christian Education, (515-255-6400 ext. 230;

Confirmation Cross Ministry

 The Confirmation Cross Ministry began in 2011 as a part of the ministry of the Christian Education Committee.

 Each year on Confirmation Sunday our confirmands are presented with a cross given to them by a friend of Grace. The crosses remain until the confirmand graduates from high school. Just as people change and grow, so will this wall as we recognize the spiritual passage of confirmation.

Our prayer is that the crosses will serve as an ever present reminder of their faith journey and a symbol of God’s gift of unconditional love.
